This Teacher Training College was started on 2nd October 1959 in a rented building at Basheerbagh, Hyderabad. Later, it was renamed as the Government Comprehensive College of Education and shifted to its present premises (Location) at Masab Tank, Hyderabad. In the year 1987, the institute was upgraded to the Government Institute of Advanced Study in Education (GIASE).

- Admissions: Merit-based admission conducted through common entrance tests affiliated with Osmania University every academic year.
- In-Service Training & Capacity Building: Conducts specialized training programs, workshops, and subject-specific orientation for active school teachers and teacher educators.
- Research & Advisory Services: Provides expert guidance, consultative support, and resources for educational research initiatives.
